2015 has been a very interesting year indeed! Lots of things have happened, lots of books have been read, movies and TV watched and places visited. So, let us review!
Personally speaking, there was one big life event that happened in 2015 that I will never forget. In February, on the 14th no less, I got engaged to my girlfriend. I had planned my proposal down to the last detail and, naturally, none of it happened. I didn’t have a ring, and it was somewhere I never expected something like that to happen.
On this particular weekend, the whole family went down to the south coast where my Aunt, Uncle and cousins live to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. That night, after the festivities, in my Uncle’s study where my girlfriend and I were sleeping on a sofa bed, I got down on one knee and popped the question. It was quite something, especially telling everyone the next morning!
Other big things that happened personally include moving flat (again!), changing from my first ever proper 9-5 job to another 9-5 job in a similar field of work.
I finished my first novel (I think it’s about 99% there, but I am not sure it will ever be “complete” in my eyes!). It’s been four years in the making and it’s finally finished. Not entirely sure how to feel about it but I do feel proud of myself! Now to finish the next one!
But not only did I finish my first novel, but I submitted it to a publisher! Still yet to hear back but you will know when I do, fear not! That was a very scary experience, sending off something I have written to someone whose job it is to read new books and potentially publish it. Very scary indeed! I actually still stop every now again and just think: “Right now, there could be a proof reader in that publishing company reading my book right now… Woah…”
I started a YouTube channel! Yes, for those who do not know I am an avid gamer and decided to post some Let’s Play videos on YouTube. I started this in April and I post videos thrice weekly. If you are inclined towards a good giggle, go check it out here.
I read some great books this year too! Here are my top 5:

- A Blight of Mages by Karen Miller
- Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder
And yes, one came out in 2014, but only just! (Points go to those who know which one!)
And while I didn’t actually see that many new releases film wise, I also saw some great films but only 3 are worth mentioning:
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Focus
- Before I Go To Sleep
Found out about some great TV shows (I do watch TV, but mostly stuff that has been on the air for years!):
- Sword Art Online (I know I am late to the party, but this anime was great!)
- Jessica Jones
I am ashamed to say that I only played one console game that was released in 2015 which was:
- Rocket League
But it was bloody fun!
I sit here, writing this blog trying to think of things that have happened this year that I can talk about but not including one or two big life events, not a lot of has happened this year. I think this year has been more of a “Nose to the grindstone and save money for later!” year… if there is such a thing. And I am sad to say that this year may in fact be similar. This year will be training, learning and preparing for my dream job! Which is quite exciting in itself! I am hoping there will be some cool life events too! I am planning for a big one, but whether it happens or not is something else entirely!
